The Sremski Karlovci is little autentic town located in an area perfect for rest and relaxation. The Sremski Karlovci is certainly one of the most beautiful towns in Serbia, located at the foot of Fruška gora and the river Danube on the other side hand,.
However, in anient times Sremski Karlovci were an important spiritual and cultural center of the country. In the town there are a few churches (the main Churce, the Chapel of Peace, Catholic, …) as well as the famous seminary of Karlovac that was founded in 1794th. Presence of 16 monastery in its surroundings is telling as about Cultural and historical significant of Sremski Karlovci.

In Sremski Karlovci there are significant sights which took important place in every tourist prospect, so don’t miss to visit the Patriarch’s Palace, the most famous monument from 19 century in Vojvodina, representing today center of Srem’s Bishop, as well as famous High school in Sremski Karlovci, the oldest Serbian grammar school, founded in 1791, and as well as fontain “Four Lion“ built in 1799th , as a symbol of finishing the first water supply system in Sremski Karlovci.

It would be a sin to talk about Sremski Karlovci not to mention the famous wine cellars. There are about thirty wine cellars, which are kept by different town’s families, and cellars were mostly built in the basements of their houses, with a large wooden barrels full of the famous “Red wine”, “Riesling”, “Bermet“ . Every year at the end of September traditionally in Sremski Karlovci held wine festival known as “Grožđenbal“ which represents celebration of the end of the vineyard’s harvesting season. Sremski Karlovci are not only known by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, but also by Branko Radičević, the major founder of Serbian culture and language, particularly literature. Today’s High School in Sremski Karlovci has its name just by Branko Radičević who was its student 1836th before they went abroad. Although he lived its whole life abroad, away from the hometown, Branko Radičević has always in the heart Sremski Karlovci, Fruška gora and Stražilovo, which is evident in his most beautiful literary works.
