Savinac is a little hamlet near villag Šarani in Takovo area, about four kilometers from the the Takovo. The Savinac was named after Saint Sava because according to the legend, he passed once through this little hamlet. They say that even today in the stone can be seen mark of his horse hoof.

The Savinac is a little place but has great cultural and historical significance. Prince Miloš Obrenović has built in 1819 in Savinac first endowment, the church, in memory of his wife Princess Ljubica. The church keeps relics of Mina Vukanović Karadžić, painter, poet and translator. Mina Vukomanović Karadžić was daughter of famous Vuk Karadžić and wife of university professor Aleksa Vukomanović, cousin of Princess Ljubica.

Savinac Takovo

Besides Savinačka church, a special significance has residential house which has been preserved from the time of reign of the prince Miloš Obrenović and two thermal springs in the riverbed of the Dičina, Svetinja i Mlačac.
Every year in July, art colony “Mina Vukanović Karadžić” is held here and attracts painting artists and admirers of this art.
