The White Tower (Greek: Λευκός Πύργος Lefkos Pyrgos) is the most recognizable symbol of Thessaloniki. Once it was part of the city walls, but today stands independent and represents a very interesting tourist attraction. It is situated on the coast with its top providing unforgettable views of the Thessaloniki and its port. Initially, when the White Tower was built, it was used as a prison which cells are available to tourists now. In the White Tower is a museum and cafe.
